We have a Dell Inspiron 3521 with Windows 8 64-bit. When we boot it up, the screen flashes, alternating between the desktop and a blank blue screen. It's my guess that the Windows update we did yesterday failed to load properly, and so Windows is not able to load fully. At one point we saw the error code 80070002.
We did manage to get to the repair menu and a scan of the hard drive found no problems. So it seems to me that the next step would be to undo the Windows update.We can't get to System Restore -- the error message says that the drive is locked. How do we unlock it? If we log in, we can't get to the menu with repair options.
Can anyone tell me how to roll back the update? Many thanks for any advice.
