Hi there,
I have dell XPS12 which came with Windows 8.1 Pro installed.
I upgraded the windows to version 10 preview and also installed ubuntu on separate partition. All was working well, but now I want to go back to wndows 8.1 as I'm thinking of selling this laptop.
I tried to to boot up the recovery partition but it didn't work for unknown reason. Unfortunately for some unknown stupid reason I decide to delete that recovery partition.
Now, I have been trying to install various version of windows 8 on this laptop, but the only version that accept the BIOS key is Windows 8,1 Core. All other version always gave me this error: " key can't be used to activate this edition of windows".
I'm pretty sure that when I got this laptop, it was installed with Pro version. Is there some kind of tricks to install windows 8 pro on this laptop. The only method that I haven't tried is to reimage using dell USB/DVD, as I don't have this with me.
Any help or suggestions are welcome.
Thanks
