Hallo friends,
On my new Inspiron 5547 Win 8.1 will not auto activate and I get error 0xC004C003.
Proceeded to do telephone auto activation but this too has failed
Next was an attempt at running the "slui.exe 4" command and personal activation over the phone.
This too has failed (key could not be generated) and I was advised to contact MS support.
MS support had told me to contact Dell support as this is an OEM key.
What (perhaps) needs to be known, that on manufacture, someone entered wrong model number into the BIOS and it states that the model number is 5447 instead of the correct 5547.
Wouldn't this cause different checksum of BIOS resulting in Win 8.1 rejecting any key whatsoever if UEFI/Secure Boot is used?
If so, should I abandon Win8.1 and install different OS? Or perhaps I should try MBR install? Any suggestions?
