Hello everybody.
I have a problem with the Dell software Data Protection, which allows to protect the system with passwords or fingerprints. I wanted to change my root password, necessary when starting the computer. I went to the password change form, I entered my old password and then, unfortunately, I validated the form before entering the new password with the Enter touch, while the new password label was empty. But the form was validated and it appeared in the software that the root password was now inactive. But, when opening again the software five minutes later, the root password was active again. So, I tried to change it, but the old one was now incorrect. That is to say that I don't know my root password since the old one had been suppressed while an empty form was validated. So, if I now stop my computer, I won't be able to start it again since I don't know my root password and since the computer will ask me for it. So, I would like to know if you have an idea about that or if my root password is now something impossible to know. In this case, I will have to contact the technical support.
Thanks a lot.
Sylvain, from France.
