Everyone feel free to jump in on this subject. After being super annoyed about MS's sorry excuse for updating Windows 8 to 8.1 I decided to jump on here and see if we could get some support about this nasty topic. Any and all ideas or help will be appreciated. I know the problems of getting the media for updating/Upgrading to 8.1 and I know that we can't really blame Dell for this but shouldn't they at least be a voice in opposition of what MS has done to us? Ok, so you say they really shouldn't be involved in this? Then what about this angle? I keep getting this annoying little popup across my screen on restarts that says and I quote "GET WINDOWS 8.1 FOR FREE" Does this not imply that it is free? If so then where might I procure the re-installation disk? I will need them to do a fresh install of 8.1. Please don't tell me I have to reinstall v8 first to install 8.1 I know this. What I want is the "FREE" Windows 8.1 that it so blatantly pushed in my field of view every-time I restart or boot up my system. I know that v 8.1 is a separate license and media than v8. I also know MS knows this, so where and whom is going to supply me with the Windows 8.1 media that is advertised as "FREE" All of the people who are and have installed the v8.1 should demand we get the re-installation media for the AS ADVERTISED "GET WINDOWS 8.1 FOR FREE" otherwise this could be construed as misrepresentation by whomever makes the advertisement pop up on the computer!
