I've got a frustrating problem here that hopefully someone could help with. I am a Geek Squad Agent working on a client's Win8 Dell XPS 12 inch convertible notebook (the one that spins inside a frame). Their computer crashed and they ordered a factory restore USB directly from dell so we could reinstall windows. However, the flash drive started the restore, rebooted and got stuck on the loading dots in a circle, and now it won't boot from the SSD, USB, or any type of media we throw at it even though it's recognized by the BIOS. Here's the really frustrating part: the USB boots fine on ANY OTHER MACHINE, so we know it works properly. From their, my co worker and I have tried formatting the SSD, cloning the USB to the SSD, manually creating EFI and OS partitions, and many other things I can't even remember. Does anyone out there have any idea about what to try next. Data loss is not a concern. Seriously, any idea, no matter how crazy we are willing to try at this point. We have been pulling our hair out for days now.
Thanks so much in advance for any help!!
Paul
