Hi all,
I had my hard drive replaced in December and it came with Win8 instead of Win8.1. Before the replacement I had no issues updating to Win8.1.
First, it took about a month to suggest the update to Win8.1 - after patiently waiting for all Windows updates to be done, I finally got the message that I could now get Win8.1 from the Store. I clicked on Download and after a few seconds I got an error message that read: "You need to use an account with Administrator privileges to install Windows 8.1, try logging in with the user account of an administrator on this PC and trying the update again."
I checked my settings and from what I can detect, I am logged into my Admin account (I'm also the only user of my PC...). Does anyone have an idea what I could do to get Win8.1??
