inspiron 3437 black screen on wake up after update to 8.1

hi guys,

I recently bought this dell inspiron 3437 and updated windows to 8.1.

After the update the screen stays black if the laptop has been in sleep mode for longer than, say, a few minutes.

I read that this is a common problem after the update to windows 8.1, but I've not found a solution that works for my laptop.

Any thoughts on this?
