First of all Hi,
I'm having some problems with my moms notebook (dell ispirion 3421). I started having the black screen problem when I updated it to windows 8.1. So following some instructions from dell's website I started a LCD BIST test, witch just made my problem worst, cause the test won't end.
Now the screen keeps on saying "diagnosing computer" then "preparing automatic repair" then really fast says "this procedure may take more than one hour" and it turns off and turns on again and start saying the same things over and over again. it has been a hole day and it keeps saying the same things.
So I turned it off and tried SHIFT + F8 to hard reset, but instead of the reset function it opens the ePSA pre boot system assessment.
The ePSA diagnostic results say that the notebook has no problems so I hoped it would turn on but no, when it started the LCD BIST test was still running and now after days I have no idea of what I should do, so I wonder if there is a way to cancel the BIST test so I can try resetting the notebook.
