Hi,
I recently reinstalled windows 8 from a recovery CD that I made from another Dell Laptop with a different processor and different graphics.
The Dell I installed it on had crashed previously and I had tried different ways of recovering but nothing worked until I did the above.
It is now working but there are some problems:
- Targeted Read Test Failed
- Intel HD 4000 graphics driver will not install due to incorrect hardware?
- Some buttons like the sleep option does not show when I hover over the power button.
- When the screen turns off it does not turn off completely, it goes black with the mouse still showing and does not actually switch off.
The dell I created the recovery disk from was a much faster model and had switchable graphics amd and intel.
I have inserted the Dell Software and utilities Cd but I have all the drivers.
Is there some way of making my computer run like it used to?
I was thinking about installing Windows 8.1 and letting Windows fix it, but I had a problem with Windows 8.1 the first time which is why it crashed in the first place.
I need some help because this is getting annoying and I don't understand why the functions like sleep do not work, it doesn't even come up in the power settings.
Regards :)
