Hello,

I bought dell inspiron 7520 and tried creating the additional partition on the hard drive. After rebooting the laptop started showing blue screen and saying that the file \Windows\system32\winload.efi doesn't exist or is corrupt. Error code: 0xc0000225

Since the laptop was sold just with the installed windows but without the CD with windows8, I'm not able to reinstall it.

We recently purchased an Inspiron all-in-one with windows 8.  We also have windows phone 8.  Now we are trying to set up SkyDrive and access some of the other features such as the store. We are trying to set up a Microsoft account (outlook.com).  When we try to access skydrive the login page is populating automatically with our regular att.net email address.  We have tried all the passwords which we normally use and none are valid.  Now we tried to set up a new account and are told that our email address is in use.  Also, there is a message which tells us that if we have a Windows phone we already have a Microsoft account, but we have no idea how to find this on our phone.

We tried emailing Microsoft support but there is insufficient information for them to do anything - they want a list of email addresses we have sent to and other things that we don't have because we never used the account.

It seems as though the account may have been setup on the computer at Dell.  Is this possible?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Since my hard drive is faulty it has to be replaced. Someone would come over Monday to install it, but then technical

support asked me if I had Windows 8 discs. I did not have those, but I thought I could get them and I also expected

 the technician to have them.  Then the supervisor needed to tell me something. He would call me Monday, and I

 needed the Windows 8 discs then to test the optical drive. Because if it was faulty to he had to send an optical

drive too.

The person I expected to have the discs does not have them.  At the moment I am not sure at all I can get those

discs before Monday.

This is all a bit strange to me. I do not see any reason why the optical drive would be faulty.  I think it is even 

stranger I have to  pay for the software discs. I only lose the software because of a faulty hard drive. I have

already paid for the laptop, the guarantee and the software.

Does anyone have advice for me?

I've had a problem when trying to restore my Dell Inspiron 17R to a factory reset of the Windows 7 it shipped with. Whether I try a factory reset or reset to an image made at an earlier point in time, I run into the error "0x400110020000100A" in just a couple of steps, and the system restarts all over again. I don't mind losing any data, and am quite at my wits end that I don't mind doing a clean install either. How do I proceed?

When I try to connect and diagnose the problem I get a message saying "Windows could not automatically detect this networks proxy settings". I have a DELL Latitude E6430 (8 Go RAM, intel Core i7) operated by Win 8.

Yesturday i let it perform an update of "DELL Backup and Recovery". The update itself was pretty fast and since i have  a very poor internet connection i guess the file was really light. However, since this update got installed i'm facing a very troubling issue : the laptop is VERY slow. To give you an idea, it freezes for 3-5 seconds when i launch Explorer... Every program is slow (incl. Excel!). When i look at the "performances" of the laptop i can see that about 20% of my RAM is busy doing something... I'm quiet sure this problem comes from the Recovery update, however i cannot find it (in order to remove it) on "Windows updates". I would like to know if one of you had a similar issue and - of course -  how to fix it... And if someone knows where this damn update (DELL Recovery) is installed, please let me know.

Each time I attempt to run Blue Stacks I receive and error msg to upgrade video drivers.  I have updated from the Dell website, but continue to receive the error.  Has anyone had any success running BS on an XT2?

I have a Microsoft keyboard that I like.

When I first got the XPS 8500 with Windows 8, it would not work. So I used the Win8 keyboard that came with the system. It worked. After that I replaced it with the old Microsoft keyboard and everything went fine until I upgraded to BIOS A10. I had to start with the Win8 keyboard and then replace it with the Microsoft keyboard. When I went into hibernate and the system came up, it did not recognize the Microsoft keyboard. I had to plug in the Win8 keyboard and then replug in the Microsoft keyboard. It seems with this update, I need to do this annoying trick whenever I restart or hibernate.

Is there a patch or a solution for this issue?

My inspiron 17R won't open some applications so I went to system refresh, which wouldnt work, then tried system reset, which didnt work as well.  All it says was that there was a problem and no changes were made.  So I tried the advanced set up way and got the error code 80070490.  I have tried many ways from forums to fix this but nothing is working.

The web page for the XPS 8500 says "Dell Recommends Windows 8 Pro" at the top, but the system specification only says "Windows 8, 64-bit, English".  I saw a review where the reviewer said his system came with Windows 8 Home Edition. Is this true?  How can I make sure my 8500 comes with Windows 8 Pro when I order it?
